KUCCPS Extends TVET Applications Deadline for September Intake
KUCCPS Extends TVET Applications Deadline for September Intake
Thousands of students have been handed a lifeline after the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) extended the deadline for TVET applications.
Deadline Extended by One Week
In a statement released on Friday, August 22, KUCCPS confirmed that the new deadline is now August 28, 2025.
“KUCCPS has reopened TVET placement applications for the September 2025 intake, from August 8 to August 22, 2025. The application fee has been slashed from Ksh1,500 to Ksh500 to boost access,” the Service earlier announced.
With the new extension, students now have one more week to secure their future through the September intake.

Reduced Application Fees
To further ease the burden on families, KUCCPS cut the application fee by two-thirds. Students will now only pay Ksh500 to apply.
The Service also urged applicants to seek assistance from TVET institutions or Huduma Centres before the new deadline.
Who Can Apply?
KUCCPS invited candidates from the 2000 to 2024 KCSE cohorts to submit their applications. The requirements remain clear.
- A C- qualifies for a Diploma (Level 6).
- A D qualifies for a Craft Certificate (Level 5).
- An E qualifies for an Artisan Certificate (Level 4).
The Service emphasized that no learner should be left behind.
“We encourage students to apply for courses at Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) and other institutions through student.kuccps.net before the new deadline,” KUCCPS stated.
How to Apply

Students can use their KCPE index number or birth certificate number as their password.
The KUCCPS portal currently hosts opportunities across 41 public universities, 29 private universities, and 32 university TVETs.
Government Support for Applicants
This move is expected to ease the financial pressure facing many households.
Thousands Expected to Apply
The urgency is clear. In the 2024 KCSE, only 246,391 candidates scored C+ and above, qualifying for direct university entry.

This leaves over 605,000 candidates who can apply for TVET programs.
With the deadline now extended, KUCCPS has given hope to thousands who feared missing out.
