KSTVET CEO Edwin Tarno, appearing before the committee on Wednesday, August 6, admitted the school has never received its land title — despite endless follow-ups.
“We have written several letters through the ministries of Education and Land,” Tarno told the lawmakers.

“The Lands PS responded, saying they are still following up.”
“The school handed over the title to the Education CS in 2016,” Gathungu said. “Then in 2021, the institution was told the lease certificate had been lost.”
She raised alarm over the lack of evidence that KSTVET’s Council approved the transfer.
“Why has our 2023 recommendation to return the land not been implemented?” Wamboka posed furiously. “I direct the Clerk to summon the three CSs immediately.”
He added that the Ministry of Education was earlier instructed to probe the lease’s disappearance and punish those involved. Yet, the report remains pending.
