Kalonzo Musyoka Breaks Silence: “I’m Still in the 2027 Race, Don’t Believe the Lies”
Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has come out swinging against claims that he’s stepped down from the 2027 presidential race. In a fiery video posted on his social media on Friday, September 19, Kalonzo dismissed the rumors as political propaganda.
“I’m on the Ballot, God Willing,” Kalonzo Declares
Kalonzo accused bloggers aligned with the Kenya Kwanza administration of spreading falsehoods to destabilize the United Opposition.
“When did these claims of me stepping down from the 2027 Presidential elections emerge?” Kalonzo asked. “I know all my enemies are suffering, because they know I will definitely be on the ballot come 2027, God willing,” he added.
Despite mounting pressure and swirling rumors, Kalonzo stood firm. He insisted that he remains committed to the opposition and its mission to unseat the current regime.
Pressure to Defect Intensifies
Several leaders allied to President William Ruto have urged Kalonzo to abandon the opposition and join the government. Speaker Moses Wetang’ula and Labour CS Alfred Mutua have been vocal in their appeals.

“To my brother Kalonzo, don’t allow anybody to make friends or create enemies for you,” Wetang’ula said. “Your friends are not necessarily someone’s friends, and your enemies are not someone’s enemies,” he added.
Mutua echoed the sentiment, urging Kalonzo to confront Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
“Even if Kalonzo is humble and fears Gachagua, he should be talking to him,” Mutua said. “The disrespect Gachagua is showing us now, he used it to claim we cannot give enough votes,” he added.
Kalonzo Rejects Government Ties
Kalonzo, however, made it clear he would never join Ruto’s administration.

“I will never join this rogue and criminal regime,” Kalonzo declared. “I refuse to participate in any type of dialogue with a regime that has our children’s blood on its hands,” he added.
Fake Diplomatic Appointment Adds to Confusion
“That post is false. I’m not part of any AU delegation,” Kalonzo clarified.
Opposition Faces Internal Struggles
Meanwhile, cracks within the United Opposition continue to widen. Critics say the group has lost focus and is more concerned with power-sharing than serving Kenyans.

“We need unity and clarity. The people deserve better,” said a political analyst.
