Julie Njoki Dies After Night In Nanyuki Police Cell
Njoki’s family claims she was severely assaulted while held at Nanyuki Police Station. In a heartbreaking online post, her aunt poured out her grief.
“Julie was arrested in Nanyuki, a town I once thought was peaceful,” she wrote.
“The next day, she was taken to the Nanyuki Law Court, and judgment was passed.”
Shockingly, that same night, Julie was reportedly beaten unconscious while still in custody.

“The same people who are meant to protect her left her unconscious,” the aunt added.
Family Blames Police for Delay and Cover-Up
The family says Julie was rushed to a hospital too late. A medical report confirmed she suffered blunt force trauma to the head.
“This critical condition was met with delays, carelessness, and silence,” the aunt claimed.
“By the time real help came, it was too late. We lost Julie.”
She continued in anguish,
“She didn’t deserve to die. No one does.”
The family is now demanding accountability and justice for Julie. They accuse police of attempting to hide the truth and failing to provide immediate medical help.
Kenya Mourns Another Youth Killed in Custody
Julie’s death has reignited national outrage just days after the death of Albert Ojwang, a blogger and teacher who died at Nairobi Central Police Station.

“I’m broken. I’m angry. I’m grieving,” Julie’s aunt cried.
“How do you jail a Gen Z on Monday and report them dead by Wednesday?”
She questioned the integrity of the justice system.
“How are we supposed to trust a system that kills the very people it’s meant to protect?”
Kenyans have taken to social media to condemn police brutality. Many are calling for urgent reforms in the police force and justice for Julie.

As of now, the police have not issued a statement regarding the incident. The silence is deafening, and the nation waits for answers.
