In a Kenya Gazette notice dated June 5, Kanja confirmed the move, stating:
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 40(1) of the National Police Service Act, the Inspector-General designates establishments… to be Police Stations or Posts for the purposes of this Act.”
“Because of the insecurity in this area, I have directed the Inspector General of Police to ensure that this police station is gazetted by Friday,” Ruto stated.
He added firmly:
“Police officers should be immediately deployed here to protect property and life. That will help the people of Ruaraka to go about their business without distraction.”

Moving north to Turkana County, two new posts will boost safety in the Turkana West sub-county.
These are the Oropoi Police Station and the Loreng Police Post.
