Confusion as Morara Kebaso Meets Rigathi Gachagua for 2027 Talks: “Project”
Nairobi – Kenyan politics took an unexpected turn after political activist Morara Kebaso revealed details of his private meeting with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. The disclosure ignited speculation, confusion, and heated debate among netizens.
Kebaso, a businessman-turned-politician, confirmed meeting Gachagua on Saturday, March 1, in Nairobi. According to him, their discussion focused on Kenya’s political landscape, economic recovery, and security concerns.
“I Will Continue Engaging Leaders” – Morara
In a statement, Morara insisted that the meeting aimed at addressing national issues, not personal ambitions.
“I met with Rigathi Gachagua to discuss the reality of Kenyan politics and the practical steps that should be taken for meaningful reforms,” he stated.
He further emphasized youth unemployment, economic exclusion, and human rights abuses as key topics. Additionally, he revealed that Gachagua shared insights on justice for victims of police brutality, abduction, and extrajudicial killings.
“I will continue to engage leaders from across the political, religious, and civic space in amplifying the voice of the youth in their quest for change,” Morara assured.
Kenyans Remain Skeptical
Despite Morara’s clarification, many Kenyans on social media remain unconvinced. A flood of reactions on X (formerly Twitter) suggested deep distrust. Critics believe Morara might be discreetly aligning with Gachagua ahead of the 2027 elections.

A section of Kenyans dismissed his explanation as political maneuvering, veiled in noble intentions. Some accused him of trying to position himself within Gachagua’s political sphere while attempting to avoid backlash from younger, progressive voters.
“Is He the New Political Project?”
Some political analysts suspect that Morara could be part of a larger strategy leading up to the 2027 elections. They argue that such high-profile meetings rarely happen without a political agenda.
“The moment you see new faces getting cozy with seasoned politicians, you know the script is being written,” remarked a political commentator.
Other critics labeled Morara a “political project” in the making, a term used in Kenyan politics to describe individuals groomed by powerful figures for future leadership roles.
What’s Next for Morara Kebaso?
With Kenyans increasingly wary of political shifts, Morara faces an uphill battle convincing the public that his intentions remain pure. Meanwhile, speculation continues to grow over whether this meeting signals the beginning of a new alliance ahead of the 2027 elections.
