“Let us agree on what I will do,” Gachagua said. “Wherever I go in Mount Kenya, I will be calling out the traitors by name,” he vowed. “Whether you are a man or a woman, we will tell our people who the traitors are,” he added.
He claimed the formation of smaller political parties was a tactic to scatter votes and weaken the region’s influence.

Gachagua specifically called out Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, accusing her of planning to form a new party ahead of the 2027 elections.
“I know Waiguru has been told to form a party,” he said. “That is a wheelbarrow. If you see that party, know it is a wheelbarrow,” he added.
“No Sympathy for Women Leaders”—Gachagua Warns Female Politicians
Gachagua made it clear that gender would not shield anyone from criticism.
“Our women leaders, those of you betraying our community, we will deal with you as traitors,” he warned. “There is no distinction between men and women. A traitor is a traitor,” he declared.
His remarks sparked mixed reactions, with some applauding his boldness and others accusing him of fueling division.

Just a day earlier, Gachagua accused President Ruto of hypocrisy. He criticized Ruto’s meeting with KANU leader Gideon Moi while condemning Gachagua’s own efforts to unite Mt Kenya.
“I’m always labelled a tribalist when I mobilise Mt Kenya,” Gachagua lamented. “But when others do it, it’s called strategy,” he added.
Meanwhile, PLP leader Martha Karua assured the crowd that opposition leaders were united and would soon unveil a presidential candidate.
