I’m Free!” – Activist Morara Kebaso Abruptly Quits Politics Weeks After Manifesto Launch

In a shocking turn of events, popular activist Morara Kebaso has announced his abrupt exit from politics—just weeks after unveiling his manifesto.

The announcement came on Monday, June 23, via a post on X (formerly Twitter), where the Inject Party leader revealed he was walking away from politics entirely.

“I’ve finally left politics. Now I can live my life, run my business, make my money, travel the world, see my friends, and visit a bar without worrying about being photographed. I’m free,” Morara wrote.

From Streets to the Spotlight

Morara first captured national attention during the fierce anti-Finance Bill protests in mid-2024.

He made headlines by exposing stalled government projects across the country—many dating back to Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration.

Notably, his tours were entirely funded by citizens who resonated with his message.

State House Responds

His efforts did not go unnoticed.

State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohammed addressed the public scrutiny triggered by Morara’s revelations.

“Some of the projects he highlighted had already been terminated or re-tendered. The delays are not intentional,” Hussein clarified.

Despite this, Morara’s influence grew rapidly. Young people saw him as the voice of Gen Z—a rising political force in Kenya.

From Hero to Suspect

However, fame quickly came with a cost.

Morara’s star dimmed after he faced allegations of dodging tax payments. Online, critics began questioning his constant fundraising appeals.

Many wondered whether the activist was genuinely fighting for justice—or simply seeking fame.

Worse still, in March 2025, he shocked his supporters by aligning his new party, INJECT, with the opposition coalition.

Then came the final straw: a photo of him seated with Kenya Kwanza-affiliated figures went viral in April, sparking massive backlash.

“He fooled us all,” one angry supporter wrote. “He was a project all along.”

A Bruised but Bold Exit

His rise had been meteoric, but so was his fall.

From getting assaulted at Bomas of Kenya to facing harsh online scrutiny, Morara’s journey has been anything but smooth.

Now, by walking away, he hopes to reclaim his peace and privacy.

“I’m done. I want my freedom back,” he affirmed again on X.

As the dust settles, Kenyans are left wondering—was Morara a true freedom fighter or just another political mirage?
