Kindiki’s Call to Youth: ‘Mentorship is the Bridge to Greatness!’
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki urged Kenyan youth to embrace mentorship, calling it the foundation for personal and career success. Speaking passionately, he explained that talent alone cannot propel individuals to greatness without guidance and respect.
“You may be a skilled engineer, app developer, or content creator. However, mentorship is the missing link to full potential,” he stated.

His comments aimed at youth pursuing digital opportunities struck a chord with many in the audience.
Respect as a Growth Pillar
Kindiki emphasized respect for elders and seniors as critical for personal development. He shared his own approach as an example.
“Even as Deputy President, I present myself to my father as his son, not the Vice President,” he revealed.
This statement resonated deeply with attendees. It also targeted a growing trend of disrespect among some young influencers, especially on social media.
The Danger of a Know-It-All Attitude
Kindiki criticized the “know-it-all” mentality hindering many young people. He warned that refusing guidance could derail even the most talented individuals.
“They don’t want to hear anything from anyone. That’s a dangerous approach,” he said. He emphasized that humility and mentorship are vital for success.
“No matter how powerful or gifted you are, you must allow yourself to be mentored. There’s no shortcut. It’s a principle of life,” Kindiki added.
He passionately urged the youth: “Just allow yourself to be mentored. Kubali tu upewe wosia.”

“With vibrant intellect and energy, the youth can transform this nation,” he remarked. However, he stressed the need for mentorship to shape their future.
A Call for Action
Kindiki’s speech blended inspiration with a stern message. He called on youth to embrace mentorship, respect elders, and channel their potential positively. His appeal left the audience motivated yet reflective about their path to success.
