Ndindi Nyoro Opens Kahuro ACC Offices Amid Boycott by Local Administrators
The facility was officially opened on Monday, March 9, in an event attended by residents and community leaders in Murang’a County. However, the ceremony notably lacked the presence of government administrators who are expected to operate from the newly constructed offices.

Some administrators are said to have cited receiving what they described as “orders from above,” preventing them from attending the ceremony or formally accepting the offices.
Despite the absence of the administrators, Nyoro proceeded with the opening ceremony, stating that the facility was ready to begin serving residents in the area.
Witnesses said the situation calmed after community members insisted that the ceremony should proceed as planned.
Addressing residents during the event, Nyoro criticised what he described as attempts to undermine the project and disrupt the launch.
“This office is ready to serve the residents. There were issues here and there. I want to tell those people—they are seeing us quiet, but they should not forget who we are,” Nyoro told the crowd.
The legislator also challenged those he accused of orchestrating the disruptions to confront him directly rather than sending others.

“Those who had sent the officers, next time do not send them. Come and face me one on one,” he added.
The Kahuro ACC offices were constructed through funding from the National Government Constituencies Development Fund, commonly known as the National Government Constituencies Development Fund. The project was intended to enhance government service delivery by providing local administrative offices for the region.
The boycott by local administrators is not the first such incident involving Nyoro’s public events.
At the time, Nyoro also criticised what he described as attempts to frustrate development projects initiated within his constituency.
Following the latest boycott, the MP insisted that such actions would not stop his efforts to implement projects for residents.
“I will continue respecting people, but let them not take my respect for cowardice,” Nyoro said.
He further stated that he preferred to focus on development rather than engaging in political confrontations.
“I will never engage in politics of hatred or insults. I will let my work speak for itself,” he added.
In recent months, Nyoro has occasionally appeared to distance himself from aspects of the agenda of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance, led by William Ruto, choosing instead to highlight development initiatives within his constituency.

Among the projects he has recently promoted is an education support programme aimed at easing the financial burden on families in Kiharu.
Political observers say the latest incident highlights growing tensions between local political leaders and sections of the national administrative structure, even as development projects continue to be rolled out at the constituency level.
