“They Took My Son’s Goats”—MP Jayne Kihara Cries Foul as Police Raid Her Home Over Election Petition

Naivasha Member of Parliament Jayne Kihara is crying foul after armed police and auctioneers stormed her home on Thursday, October 9. The raid, which saw the seizure of her personal car, goats, and sheep, has sparked outrage and raised serious political questions.

“I Wasn’t Even Present”—Kihara Slams Surprise Raid

Kihara revealed that the raid happened without her presence, despite her request to be there.

“The OCS called me saying he was under pressure to implement an order by the auctioneers,” Kihara said. “I told him I should be present when it was carried out,” she added.

She insisted that the livestock taken belonged to her son.

“All the goats and sheep taken belong to my son,” she stated. “I do not own any livestock,” she clarified.

Kihara also accused hired youths of stealing some animals during the raid.

“This Is Intimidation”—MP Links Raid to Political Retaliation

The vocal MP believes the raid was politically motivated. She linked it to her support for former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and her recent criticism of the government.

“This is an attempt to silence me,” Kihara declared. “I will not be intimidated,” she vowed.

She questioned how her opponent obtained a court order while a petition was still pending at the Court of Appeal.

“There’s a pending petition. How was the order granted?” she asked.

“They Stormed My Home Before”—Kihara Recalls Previous Police Raid

This isn’t the first time police have targeted her residence. Just weeks ago, anti-riot officers stormed her home during a meeting. Kihara livestreamed the incident, showing herself being bundled into a police car.

“They took me to Naivasha Police Station,” she said. “I was released on a Ksh50,000 bond,” she added.

“Who Owns This Land?”—Kihara Demands Answers Over Kenya Railways Project

Earlier that day, Kihara joined angry locals protesting a multi-billion-shilling development on Kenya Railways land. She accused the government of evicting residents three years ago to pave way for the project.

“The President must tell Kenyans who is developing the Kenya Railways land,” Kihara demanded. “People were evicted and property worth millions destroyed,” she added.

As tensions rise, Kihara’s supporters are calling for transparency and justice.
