Robert Burale Sues Alex Mwakideu and Sister, Demands Ksh 20M Over Explosive Interview

A storm has erupted in Kenya’s media and religious circles after preacher and motivational speaker Robert Burale filed a defamation suit against media personality Alex Mwakideu and his sister, Rozina Mwakideu. The High Court in Nairobi has certified the case as urgent and set October 23, 2025, for hearing.

“This Is Malicious”—Burale Breaks Silence Over Viral Interview

Burale is demanding Ksh 20 million in damages following a controversial interview posted on Alex’s YouTube channel. In the video, Rozina shared painful details about her one-year marriage to Burale.

“That marriage was the darkest moment of my life,” Rozina said. “It was my biggest mistake,” she added.

She accused Burale of emotional neglect and financial strain, claiming he distanced himself from her during their union.

“I accessed his emails and found disturbing documents,” Rozina revealed.

“They Want to Ruin Me”—Burale Responds Through Court

Burale, in his petition filed on October 8, described the allegations as false and damaging.

“The accusations are malicious and untrue,” Burale stated. “Their goal is to destroy my reputation,” he added.

He also accused Alex of professional negligence.

“Alex failed to verify the claims before airing the video,” Burale argued.

“Remove the Video Immediately”—Court Issues Strong Warning

Justice Stephen Onjoro directed Burale to serve the application to both defendants immediately. He warned of serious consequences for non-compliance.

“Any disobedience of this order will result in penal consequences,” Justice Onjoro declared.

Burale is seeking an injunction to stop further sharing or reposting of the video.

“An injunction is hereby granted restraining the sharing or posting of any interaction regarding the defamatory publication,” the petition read.

He also wants the court to compel the Mwakideus to publicly retract and admit the falsehoods.

“The defendants must publicly withdraw and acknowledge the falsehood of the defamatory verbatim,” the petition added.

“The Damage Is Done”—Video Goes Viral

Despite the legal action, the video has already gained massive traction online. It has racked up nearly 650,000 views, with snippets circulating widely on social media.

“This video has gone viral. The damage is done,” said a concerned fan.

As the case heads to court, Kenyans are watching closely, torn between sympathy, curiosity, and outrage.
