“I would like to tell President Ruto, with Ichung’wah as your friend, you don’t need another enemy,” Kihara said sharply.
“He is the one wronging Kenyans. He abused me and told me to behave my age!”
Her fiery words came just a day after she was arrested by DCI officers who stormed her home on Thursday evening. She allegedly failed to honor a DCI summons linked to public remarks made during protests on July 8.
“I will continue to fight for Kenyans and my people,” she vowed.
“Even if they put me behind bars for weeks, I am prepared.”
“The only thing I am left to do is fight.”
Kihara also made an emotional revelation, showing how deep her resolve runs.
“I have reached the climax of my politics by sleeping in the cells,” she stated.
“I have never even been booked in the OB before.”
“Anyone who thinks they will silence me should not bother.”
Notably, the court did not ask her to take a plea. A legal decision on the validity of the charges will be made on July 29, during the mention of the case. Until then, Kihara remains a free woman — but clearly not silent.
