“Stop the Lies”—Malala Dismisses Claims Linking Gachagua to Secret Dealings With Ruto

Tensions flared on Tuesday in Malava as Democratic Citizens Party (DCP) Deputy Leader Cleophas Malala fiercely rejected claims that former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is secretly working with President William Ruto. The allegations, made by Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni, have sparked heated debate within the opposition.

“Kioni Is a Mole”—Malala Accuses Jubilee SG of Sabotaging Unity

While campaigning for DCP candidate Edgar Busieka ahead of the November 27 by-election, Malala blasted Kioni’s remarks. He accused Kioni of being a government pawn sent to divide the opposition.

“I have seen people like Kioni using diversionary tactics,” Malala said. “If you’re in the opposition and can’t say ‘wantam,’ then you’re a mole,” he added.

Malala insisted that Gachagua could never work with Ruto, calling the idea absurd and misleading.

“Kioni should stop sowing confusion. Can Gachagua really be with Ruto?” Malala asked. “Under no circumstances can we work with Ruto,” he declared.

“Secret Meetings in Narok?”—Kioni’s Allegations Stir Controversy

Three days earlier, Kioni claimed Gachagua met leaders in Narok County to discuss DCP’s decision to deny Joshua Ole Kaputa a party ticket. He alleged that the meeting involved 15 people, including clergy, and that a deal had been struck between Gachagua and Ruto.

“There was an arrangement. Joshua would get a nomination later,” Kioni claimed.

He warned the opposition against repeating past mistakes in their quest to field a joint presidential candidate for 2027.

“Leaving the flag bearer decision to a few individuals is dangerous,” Kioni cautioned. “It risks handing Ruto an easy second term,” he added.

“We Must Stay United”—Opposition Faces Internal Struggles

Malala dismissed Kioni’s warnings as fear-mongering and manipulation. He urged opposition leaders to remain focused and avoid distractions.

“We must stay united. These tactics won’t break us,” Malala said.

The opposition remains divided over leadership and strategy, with growing pressure to present a united front before 2027.

“Let the People Decide”—Public Calls for Transparency and Truth

As the political drama unfolds, Kenyans are demanding clarity and honesty from their leaders.

“We’re tired of secret deals. Let the people decide,” a voter in Kakamega said.

With elections looming, the stakes have never been higher.
