Two Suspects in Victoria Mutiso Murder Case Granted Ksh1 Million Bail
The two suspects, a lawyer and her co-accused, were arraigned over allegations of possessing a stolen Range Rover Sport valued at approximately Ksh15 million.
Investigators told the court that the luxury vehicle was allegedly stolen from the disputed Mlolongo property, which has emerged as a key part of the investigation into Dr Mutiso’s death.

The mother remains in custody alongside her son after the court previously issued a 21-day detention order to allow investigators to complete their inquiries.
Prosecution Seeks More Time
The case involving the two other suspects took another turn after prosecutors sought additional time to keep them in custody.
The prosecution asked the court for seven more days after the initial 14-day detention period expired.
“Upon expiry of the 14-day period, the prosecution seeks a further seven days of custodial orders on the basis that although the investigations have been completed, the file has been forwarded to the ODPP for perusal and directions.”
The court was told that investigators had completed their work concerning the mother and son but had forwarded the file to the ODPP for review.
The prosecution said the ODPP had not yet communicated its decision on whether the two should be charged.
“The ODPP is yet to communicate its decision on whether the respondents should be charged or not. It is the prosecution’s position that the additional seven days are necessary to enable the ODPP to consider the file and issue appropriate directions.”
Dr Victoria Mutiso Shot Dead in Nairobi
Dr Mutiso was killed on Wednesday, July 29, during her morning commute in Nairobi’s Upper Hill area.
According to investigators, the incident happened at about 9:23am near the junction of Mbagathi Link Road and Mawenzi Road.
The vehicle in which she was travelling was reportedly blocked by a black Toyota Prado.

She was rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Her killing triggered a major investigation by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations as detectives sought to establish the motive, identify those responsible and determine whether the murder was connected to other disputes.
Seven Suspects Arrested
At least seven suspects have so far been arrested in connection with the murder as detectives continue pursuing additional leads.
The investigation has also expanded to examine the alleged stolen Range Rover and the disputed Mlolongo land.
The latest bail ruling means the lawyer and her co-accused can remain out of custody while the case proceeds, subject to the conditions imposed by the court.
