He also praised President William Ruto for his unwavering support of Raila throughout the campaign. Despite their political differences, Ruto and Raila worked together to push Kenya’s agenda on the continental stage.
“I need to thank you, Your Excellency, because I know you put all your effort into this race,” Arati said.
Arati admitted the competition was intense and involved high-level political maneuvers.
“I remember we went to China together and spoke to some people who promised us their votes but did otherwise,” he disclosed.
The loss to Djibouti’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Mahamoud Ali Youssouf, left Kenya questioning the sincerity of some African nations. Arati hinted at high-level political games, stating, “Kuna ukora ya hali ya juu.” (There was a high level of trickery.)
“You gave it your best, moving around with the former prime minister. This has shown us the essence of being together as a country,” he said.

Arati also praised the formation of a broad-based government, saying it was a step in the right direction for Kenya’s progress. He encouraged both President Ruto and Raila to stay determined and avoid distractions.

“Your Excellency, the president, and the former prime minister, stay focused and don’t look back. Remember, nothing comes easy, and everything takes time,” Arati urged.
