“We need to hear from KAA whether Kisumu is still an International Airport and whether they can still guarantee the safety of all passengers transiting through there. How they allowed goons to barricade the airport needs to be explained,” Sifuna stated.

“We were all booked on commercial flights from JKIA. The airlines shared our itinerary with the ghouls in the Ministry of Interior, knowing full well they were endangering our safety. Shame on you,” Sifuna alleged.
Unlike the Kitengela rally earlier this month, which was abruptly halted after police fired teargas, the Kakamega crowd remained unmoved and the rally proceeded. However, one person was confirmed dead following confrontations between Linda Mwananchi supporters and a rival faction aligned with the government.
Police had not issued an official statement on the incident by the time of publication.

At the Kakamega rally, Sifuna reiterated his position, accusing authorities of orchestrating violence and intimidation.
“We shall not relent,” he said, thanking supporters for their resilience in showing up despite what he described as deliberate attempts to derail the event.
Analysts note that the accusations, if substantiated, could raise serious questions about airport security and the protection of passenger information. The incident also underscores the growing political tensions between opposition leaders and the government, with rallies increasingly becoming flashpoints for confrontation.
