Muchiri underscored the importance of eliminating long-standing imbalances in public service.
“The objects of these regulations are to mainstream a culture that supports and values diversity,” he explained.
He added that no Kenyan should feel excluded from serving their country because of gender, disability, or ethnicity.
Safeguarding Merit
Even as critics raised fears of favoritism, Muchiri moved to calm concerns. He maintained that competence would remain the key principle in hiring and promotions.
“The regulations will be applied without compromising merit or fair competition,” he insisted.
This assurance was meant to address fears that diversity could overshadow qualifications.
