Police Probe Horror in Kirinyaga After Man Kills Wife, Two Children
Night of Horror
The tragedy unfolded on the night of August 15. Neighbours first heard loud screams from the family’s home before rushing to help.
Witnesses described a chilling scene. The family’s patriarch staggered out of the burning house with severe burns and a rope tied around his neck.
One neighbour recalled the heartbreaking cries.
“I heard people arguing in the house, then I heard the children saying ‘don’t stab mum with a knife,’” the witness said.
Another resident revealed what they saw moments later.
“After a while, I saw the house was full of fire. The old man came out screaming, with a rope tied around him. Firefighters later went inside and found three bodies: two children and one adult,” the neighbour explained.
Grim Discovery Inside
Residents rushed into the house after extinguishing the flames. What they found was unbearable. The charred remains of the wife and two young children lay inside, burned beyond recognition.
The man, however, survived the failed suicide attempt. Police later took him into custody while investigations began immediately.
According to preliminary reports, the horrific act may have been triggered by a domestic dispute that escalated violently.
Police Investigations Begin
Detectives are piecing together the final hours leading up to the murders. They believe the family had been embroiled in bitter disagreements before tragedy struck.
Another Brutal Murder in Thika
Meanwhile, another shocking case of domestic violence has emerged in Thika, Kiambu County.
A 36-year-old married man has been arrested for the brutal killing of his 20-year-old alleged girlfriend, a college student.
A concerned neighbour raised the alarm after sensing something was wrong. Officers rushed to the scene and arrested the man.
While the motive is still under investigation, detectives suspect a heated domestic dispute, possibly over money, may have led to the killing.
