Nakuru Man Seeks Help After Wife Set To Give Birth to Triplets Delivers Quadruplets: “Nilishtuka”
A Nakuru couple is seeking help after a life-changing surprise. Susan Jepkemei, a mother of two, gave birth to quadruplets at Nakuru Level 5 Hospital on January 14, 2025. Initially expecting triplets, the family was overwhelmed when they welcomed four newborns instead.
Unexpected Arrival of Quadruplets
Jepkemei, from Lare in Njoro, shared the challenges of her pregnancy journey. She was placed on bed rest at just three months due to complications.
“I was happy because, you see, it’s a one-time pain. I didn’t expect they would be four. By the way, I couldn’t do any work for myself after the third month,” Jepkemei said.
Scans initially showed three babies, but the unexpected fourth left her both overjoyed and anxious. Raising four babies, she said, requires mental and physical preparation.
Father’s Shock and Gratitude
Jonathan Mwangi, the father of the quadruplets, shared his emotional reaction.
“We were not expecting it because, even in the family, we have never had twins. I was shocked and overjoyed at the same time. Even though I was not prepared, I was still happy and said thank you to God,” Mwangi explained.
Mwangi works as a milk transporter in Njoro, earning commission-based income. While grateful for his expanded family, he admitted that his current earnings are insufficient to support six children.

A Call for Assistance
The couple has reached out to well-wishers and the community for financial support.
“My income cannot sustain my family as of now,” Mwangi said. “That is why I am requesting if there is any assistance we can receive for these children because we were not prepared, so the children do not face any difficulties anywhere.”
The family’s story has touched many hearts, highlighting both the joy of new life and the challenges of unexpected growth.
How You Can Help
The Mwangi family is appealing to anyone who can offer financial or material support. Every contribution, no matter how small, will help them provide for their quadruplets and two older daughters.
For those inspired to help, reaching out to local community groups or organizing fundraisers could make a meaningful difference.
