Nairobi Businessman Faces Charges for Stealing KSh 254M and Forging Promotion Letter
Nairobi residents were left in shock after a businessman was charged with stealing KSh 254.4 million from his employer. The accused, Cheekati Narasimha, allegedly forged his boss’s signature to promote himself and siphon millions over several years.
Multi-Million Heist Exposed
On Tuesday, February 26, the Milimani Law Courts heard that Narasimha, an employee of Printing Services Limited, stole the massive sum between January 1, 2016, and August 31, 2024. According to court documents, he manipulated company records and misused his position to access company funds.
“The following charges have been brought against him, including theft by servant contract,” the prosecution stated.
Forgery and Self-Promotion
The case took a shocking turn when it was revealed that Narasimha had forged the signature of Malkiat Singh Dhillon, the company’s managing director. He allegedly used the fake signature on an appointment letter, fraudulently promoting himself to the position of production manager in 2010.

By assuming a senior role, Narasimha gained control over finances, allowing him to steal millions. The prosecution detailed how he manipulated internal approvals and transactions, covering his tracks for nearly eight years.
Court Imposes Heavy Bail Conditions
Initially, Narasimha was out on bond for a separate forgery case. He had been granted a bond of KSh 500,000 and a cash bail of KSh 200,000. However, after fresh charges were filed, the court imposed stricter conditions.
“The accused will be released only after paying a bond of KSh 10 million with a similar surety or a cash bail of KSh 3 million,” the judge ruled. Additionally, the court ordered him to surrender his passport to prevent him from fleeing the country.
Lawyer’s Plea Rejected
Narasimha’s lawyer pleaded for more time to comply with the bail terms, citing his client’s health issues. The defense argued that he had a neck problem and could not withstand detention. However, the judge dismissed the request, insisting that he must meet the new bail terms before release.
Drama at Milimani Law Courts
Meanwhile, a separate court drama unfolded when a woman demanded a refund of the KSh 100,000 she paid for her boyfriend’s bail. The woman had secured the amount using her television as collateral. However, after his release, the man, Felix Mwikya Mutua, allegedly assaulted her.
“He turned against me after I bailed him out,” she told the court.
Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Ben Mark Ekhubi ruled in her favor, directing that she be refunded. The suspect was instructed to find an alternative way to settle his bail.
