Maraga Officially Declares 2027 Presidential Bid as The Gen Z Candidate, Vows to End Graft and Police Brutality

Former Chief Justice David Maraga has stunned the political world after officially announcing his 2027 presidential bid.

Speaking during an exclusive interview with NTV on Wednesday night, Maraga boldly declared:

“Yes, I am the Gen Z Presidential candidate. I have children, and many people have children.
We must mentor young people so that they take over from us.”

“It’s Time to Save Kenya”

Maraga said his decision came after long reflection and talks with close allies.

“After discussion with friends and after serious reflection, I thought it was time we thought about the leadership of this country,” he said.

He added:

“We cannot let some people take our country to doomsday literally.”

With urgency in his tone, he made his official announcement:

“As a result of that reflection, I have made up my mind that I will run for the presidency of this country in 2027.”

“I’ll Fight Corruption – No Matter Who Is Involved”

Maraga promised to tackle budgeted graft head-on if elected, even if it means taking on the most powerful people in the system.

“I will fight budgeted graft. I know it will pit me against powerful people who want to protect their interests,” he said.

“I Won’t Give You Money to Vote for Me”

He rejected the culture of bribery in campaigns and made it clear that his approach would be different.

“I will not give money to people to vote for me,” he stated.

Instead, Maraga appealed to the public for honest support:

“I will ask Kenyans to support me and fund my logistics on the campaign trail.”

“Professionals Will Run This Country – Not Politicians”

Maraga said his administration would rely on experts, not political cronies, to run government departments effectively.

“I will get a team of professionals. I will provide leadership and let them do their work.”

“We Must All Obey the Constitution”

He emphasized the importance of law and order, vowing to lead by example.

“We need someone courageous enough to take initiative. We must restore the rule of law in this country.”
“Even I will not be above the law.”

Maraga’s declaration has already sparked debate across the country. His clean record, strong stand against corruption, and promise to empower the youth have struck a chord with many, especially Generation Z.

The question now is: Can the former Chief Justice turn Kenya’s hopes into reality?
