Man Slapped by Pastor Ng’ang’a Demands Justice and Compensation
What started as a bizarre moment during a church service has spiraled into a full-blown controversy.
Willy Mwangi, a humble hawker in Dandora, was slapped by popular preacher Apostle James Ng’ang’a in front of a congregation. Initially, the moment went viral — shocking many and amusing others. At first, Mwangi seemed to take it lightly. Now, the man says he’s been suffering silently ever since.
“It Affected My Life!” – Mwangi Speaks Out
Mwangi now claims the slap has done more harm than the world realizes.
“I was not happy with it,” he shared. “Somebody to slap me in church for dozing off without asking me why I dozed off isn’t fair.”
Despite early comments that he welcomed the slap, Mwangi has come forward saying he only agreed under pressure.
“It has affected me. I can’t sell coffee or melon in peace,” he explained. “People are laughing at me. They accuse me of being bribed by him (Pastor Ng’ang’a) to remain quiet.”
Allegations of Coercion and Threats
Even more shocking, Mwangi alleges that Apostle Ng’ang’a forced him to stay at the church for a full week.

“He detained me in church,” Mwangi said. “He made me say the slap was a blessing.”
Now, Mwangi says his life is in danger.
“I don’t have any security. I have to be extra careful. I don’t have money, yet he is rich.”
Compensation and Justice
The hawker is now demanding justice and financial compensation for the humiliation and loss of income he’s endured.
“He should pay me for hitting me like that,” he said, visibly emotional. “That incident affected me. Now I come back with unsold watermelon. Some even think I was paid to keep quiet.”
Mwangi also dismissed the token gifts he received from Ng’ang’a.
“He didn’t give me any money. He only offered me shoes and a suit.”
Final Word
What many considered a moment of spiritual correction has turned into a public cry for justice. As the church remains silent and Apostle Ng’ang’a offers no public apology, Mwangi’s voice grows louder.

Will the law step in? Or will this be another case where power silences the poor?
