Lilian Nganga Predicts Ruto-Raila Ticket Could Secure 2027 Presidency

The political landscape in Kenya could take an unexpected turn in 2027. Former Machakos County First Lady, Lilian Nganga, has sparked heated debate after expressing her views on a possible William Ruto and Raila Odinga presidential partnership.

Nganga’s Take on the Ruto-Raila Alliance

Nganga, known for her strong political opinions, shared her thoughts on social media. Reacting to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between President Ruto and opposition leader Raila Odinga, she argued that the duo could form an unstoppable political force.

“A Ruto/Raila ticket is a very powerful ticket, whether we want to admit it or not. Both are seasoned politicians with solid bases (they will re-emerge in 2027), and so they just need to pull a few more from here and there to get the majority of the vote. Can’t wait to see it all play out,” she posted on X (formerly Twitter).

Her statement instantly ignited mixed reactions, with some agreeing and others strongly opposing her perspective.

Public Reactions

Nganga’s take did not go unnoticed. Netizens flooded her comment section, with some acknowledging her insight while others dismissed it as wishful thinking.

@kipweldone commented: “Well put—the best option for any competitor is to work overtime to win in 2032.”

@Alxyore added: “Moi and KANU were powerful in 2002, but the time for change had come, and the wave then smoked Moi, KANU & Uhuru. I look forward to another 2002 moment in 2027. The two may have what you call ‘solid’ bases, but they don’t appeal to late millennials & Gen-Zs, who are the majority.”

@Emmanue49560622 wrote: “In 2007, they were together… they lost to Kibaki.”

Some, however, questioned Nganga’s credibility on political matters.

@Village_Siren sarcastically asked: “Kama hivi ndio ulikuwa una advice yule governor kweli alikuwa Na kazi kubwa?”

@kevin12mose simply asked: “Lilian, are you sure?”

Nganga’s Past Political Influence

Nganga has always shown a keen interest in politics, having served as Machakos County’s First Lady during Alfred Mutua’s tenure. She recently opened up about her personal journey, revealing how she craved freedom in her 30s.

During an interview with Dr. Ofweneke, she stated that although she felt mature enough to be First Lady at 25, by 30, she wanted to break free.

Her decision to leave Mutua led to personal and political shifts, eventually leading to her relationship with musician Juliani. Reflecting on her new chapter, she affirmed that her past experiences shaped her current perspectives.
