Drama as Ex-MP Peter Mwathi Allegedly Abducted During Limuru Funeral Chaos
The mystery surrounding the alleged abduction of former Limuru MP Peter Mwathi has sparked outrage and concern. His disappearance followed chaotic scenes at a funeral attended by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Allies of Gachagua rushed to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters on Kiambu Road. They accused the DCI of involvement and demanded answers.
Senator Thang’wa: Mwathi Taken by Subaru Men
Speaking to the media on Thursday night, Kiambu Senator Karungo Thang’wa alleged that Mwathi was abducted by men in a Subaru. Thang’wa hinted at DCI involvement, citing the agency’s known association with Subaru vehicles.
“We know you’re the Subaru men. Mr. Mwathi was taken by a Subaru. Please, return him to his wife and children,” Thang’wa appealed emotionally.
Nyandarua Senator John Methu expressed frustration over the DCI’s lack of cooperation. Mwathi’s wife, who accompanied the delegation, has been left in the dark about her husband’s whereabouts.
“The wife of the former MP is here with us tonight. Yet, we have not been given any answers by the DCI,” Methu said.
Chaos at Funeral Raises Concerns
The funeral, attended by several political leaders, descended into chaos when alleged goons disrupted proceedings. Amid the confusion, Mwathi went missing, leaving his family and supporters deeply shaken.
Leaders have now demanded immediate investigations into the funeral disruptions and Mwathi’s disappearance. They urged authorities to prioritize the safety and accountability of all involved.
Family’s Emotional Appeal
Mwathi’s family has pleaded for his safe return, with his wife visibly distressed during the press briefing. “We just want him back,” she said, her voice breaking with emotion.
