Azziad Nasenya Sues Sacco to Stop Auction of Ksh20M Kileleshwa Apartment

Kenyan media personality and content creator Azziad Nasenya has taken legal action to stop the auction of her Ksh20 million Kileleshwa apartment. The move comes after a bitter dispute with a Sacco that financed the property.

“I Cleared My Arrears” — Azziad Fights to Save Her Home

On Thursday, November 6, Azziad filed a case at the Commercial Court in Nairobi. She accused the Sacco of attempting to auction her apartment unlawfully, despite her efforts to settle the outstanding loan.

“I acquired the property legally. I’ve cleared my arrears. This auction is unjust,” Azziad stated in court documents.

She claimed the Sacco had no legal grounds to recall the full loan or instruct auctioneers to sell her home.

“Loan Was Approved and Secured” — Court Documents Reveal Timeline

According to court filings, Azziad joined the Sacco after making regular monthly contributions. This membership allowed her to access loan facilities.

She identified the Kileleshwa apartment and applied for a loan of Ksh20,389,720 on April 14, 2024. The Sacco approved the loan, and a formal agreement was signed on April 16. By June 2024, the apartment was charged to the Sacco as security and transferred to her name.

“The 1st Defendant prepared the charge dated June 12, 2024, over the suit property,” the documents stated.

“Economic Hardships Hit Hard” — Azziad Explains Loan Arrears

Azziad admitted she fell behind on payments due to tough economic times. By September 2025, her arrears had reached Ksh1.51 million. However, she claimed to have cleared the debt.

“The Sacco deducted Ksh2.45 million from my savings on September 19, 2025,” she said. “That payment cleared all arrears.”

Despite this, she was shocked when auctioneers listed her apartment for sale on October 8, 2025.

“Auction Is Premature and Illegal” — Azziad Seeks Court Protection

Azziad argued that the Sacco’s move to auction the property was premature and violated their agreement. She cited a clause in the loan charge that restricted early repayment demands.

“Recital ‘B’ of the charge states the Sacco cannot demand repayment outside the agreed time,” her legal team argued.

She now wants the court to stop the auction and protect her rights as a borrower.

“Public Reaction Mixed” — Fans Rally Behind Azziad

News of the dispute has sparked emotional reactions online. Many fans expressed sympathy and support, while others questioned the Sacco’s actions.

“She worked hard for that home. This is heartbreaking,” one fan commented on social media.

Others called for financial institutions to show more compassion during economic hardships.

“Justice Must Prevail” — Case Heads to Court

As the case proceeds, Azziad remains hopeful the court will stop the auction and uphold her rights.

“I trust the court will see the truth and protect my home,” she said.
