Shock and Rage as Lawyer Reveals Albert Ojwang Had Swollen Head and Bleeding Nose
Grief turned into fury on Monday, June 10, as fresh details emerged about the tragic death of influencer Albert Ojwang.
Speaking to reporters, the family’s lawyer gave a harrowing account after viewing Ojwang’s body.
“The body had a lot of injuries on the head, the hand, and the shoulder area. There was a lot of blood oozing from the nose,” the lawyer revealed.
His remarks directly contradicted the earlier police version of events.
Police Account Raises Eyebrows
Initially, the National Police Service claimed Ojwang had injured himself inside a police cell.
They said he hit his head on the wall. Later, Inspector General Douglas Kanja revised the story.
“Ojwang was found unconscious in his cell,” Kanja said during a press briefing at Central Police Station.
He also confirmed that the arrest followed a formal complaint by Deputy Inspector General Eliud Lagat.
“Just like any other Kenyan, our Deputy IG had a right to lodge a complaint,” Kanja added.
Still, doubts lingered. The lawyer’s statement, detailing multiple wounds, fueled growing suspicion.
Family Questions Defensive Wounds
Questions around Ojwang’s final hours intensified. Injuries to his hands and shoulders hinted at a possible struggle.

These appeared to be defensive wounds, which contradict the theory of self-harm.
“You can’t hit your head and also injure your shoulders and arms,” a protester shouted outside the mortuary.
The contradictions are deepening pain for a family already in mourning.
Protest Erupts at City Mortuary
Tension spilled onto the streets near the Nairobi Funeral Home, formerly City Mortuary.
Angry protesters, many carrying placards and smartphones, demanded answers.
“We want to see the body. We want justice!” they chanted.
Calls for President William Ruto’s resignation echoed across the roundabout.
More demonstrators called for the immediate resignation of Deputy IG Lagat.
“He must step aside if we are to believe this investigation,” said a protestor holding a candle.
Public Outrage Demands Action
As details continue to surface, public pressure is mounting. The government faces serious questions.

Kenyans want independent investigations, accountability, and justice—not silence and shifting stories.
For now, Albert Ojwang’s death remains clouded in suspicion, and a nation waits for the truth.
