“Raila Drops Bombshell in Bomet: ‘Gachagua Can’t Save Kenya’”
Raila Odinga, the leader of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), has boldly dismissed Rigathi Gachagua’s potential to lead the country. While addressing mourners on a solemn Saturday afternoon in Bomet, Raila tore into the Deputy President’s performance and painted a grim picture of Kenya’s future under Gachagua’s leadership.
“Even if you make Rigathi Gachagua the next president, there is no big difference he will bring to this country,” Raila told the crowd.
The opposition chief didn’t hold back. He emphasized that Kenya’s challenges stem from systemic failure, not individual leadership. Therefore, he said, the country needs more than just a new face at the top.

“We need to do things afresh,” Raila added, triggering applause from the attendees.
“Protests Alone Can’t Fix Kenya”
Moreover, Raila criticized the youth-led protests that have been sweeping the nation. While he praised young people for their courage, he warned them against being manipulated.
“I support the youth, but they must not allow goons to hijack their cause and destroy property,” he stated.
According to him, angry chants and street protests are not the cure to Kenya’s deep-rooted issues.
“Protests and chants of ‘Ruto Must Go’ will not solve the problems. Even if Ruto leaves office, it will not solve the challenges,” Raila explained, urging Kenyans to seek practical, long-term solutions.
National Dialogue the Only Way Forward
Raila once again pushed for a national dialogue, stressing that Kenya must unite to chart a new course. He acknowledged the gaps in the Constitution and called for honest, inclusive conversations.

“We should talk so that we can know where the problem is,” he insisted.
His remarks came hours after Deputy President Gachagua mocked his calls for talks, labeling them empty gestures.
“Raila is irrelevant in the political discourse because every election cycle, he loses and finds his way into government,” Gachagua declared.
He further accused Raila of being a political opportunist.
“He wants to be in government but doesn’t want responsibility,” Gachagua said firmly.
Political Tensions Rising
Raila’s remarks in Bomet and Gachagua’s response from abroad underscore the deepening political divide. As the economy struggles and public anger grows, the nation is bracing for more heated exchanges and possible unrest.
Whether a national dialogue will emerge remains to be seen. However, one thing is clear: Raila Odinga is not done speaking out — and he wants every Kenyan involved in shaping the next chapter.
