Kasarani: Inside Lavish Lifestyles of 2 Men Arrested for Posing as Women
Kasarani residents are reeling after two flamboyant men who paraded flashy lifestyles online were arrested for allegedly robbing unsuspecting men while pretending to be women. Alex Mugo Wachira and Simon Chomba Mbogo, famously known as the ‘Kirinyaga Queens’, led what many believed were glamorous lives. However, their cover unraveled when a client reported being robbed by the duo at knife-point.
How the Trap Was Set
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the suspects lured their victims through online massage service adverts. One victim fell into their trap and visited their spa residence on Lumumba Drive, Kasarani. But what seemed like a relaxing session quickly turned into a nightmare.
The suspects allegedly threatened the man with a knife and forced him to transfer KSh 280,000 from his mobile phone.
He managed to escape and report the incident to authorities. Detectives, acting swiftly, arrested the suspects near Kamiti Prison Area.
Living Like Celebrities
Shockingly, even after their arrest, Kenyans uncovered just how lavish their lives had been. Mbogo, who dubbed himself Kenya’s Bobrisky—after the controversial Nigerian influencer—frequently flaunted his wealth online. He posted videos dancing to Kamba songs, donning pink boots, short skirts, crop tops, and high-end jackets. One clip even showed him shaking his behind while cheekily warning women:
“Husband snatchers. Hide your husbands.”

In another video, he confidently counted large stacks of cash, wrapped in rubber bands, with the caption:
“If you know your worth.”
Their stylish home matched their extravagant image. A peek into Mbogo’s living room revealed a massive wall-mounted TV, sleek white furniture, and a luxury TV stand.
Online Reaction
Many Kenyans were stunned to learn the real source of their wealth. After DCI’s post went viral, users flooded the suspects’ social media accounts with disbelief.
Tiff asked, “Are you the ones who were arrested by the DCI?”
Fladdy added, “So you have been stealing from fellow men?”
Mwalimu wa Math quipped, “Wueh, so that is the job you were doing?”
Irene Kiilu simply said, “Here after seeing them on the DCI page.”
NADZE lamented, “How can you go sit near Kamiti, surely?”
Behind Bars, Behind the Mask
As investigations continue, many are left wondering just how many victims these so-called Kirinyaga Queens might have deceived. Authorities have warned the public to be cautious when engaging with online services.
