William Ruto Will Still Lose in 2027 Even If ODM Supports Him, Edwin Sifuna

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna didn’t hold back during his interview with Citizen TV. He made it clear that President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is on shaky ground ahead of the 2027 elections.

Sifuna, who doubles as the ODM party secretary-general, claimed that even with ODM’s support, Ruto’s presidency is doomed. His words were sharp, critical, and unfiltered.

Popularity Beats Alliances Every Time

According to Sifuna, no political alliance can save a leader who has lost public favor.

“If you’re unpopular, it doesn’t matter who supports you. We will lose with Ruto, even with ODM behind him,” he said bluntly.

The senator criticized UDA’s failure to win the trust of Kenyans. He emphasized that performance in office is what truly wins elections, not the company of political allies

Azimio’s Painful Lessons from 2022

Sifuna did not spare his own camp. Reflecting on Azimio’s 2022 loss, he admitted the coalition’s failings.

“We lost despite having 26 parties. Even getting our principals to work together was chaotic,” he confessed.

He recalled how a single county had three Azimio principals, creating unnecessary friction. Despite their numbers, the coalition failed to connect with voters. According to Sifuna, this is proof that alliances alone don’t guarantee success.

Kenya Kwanza’s Growing Problems

The senator turned his focus back to the Kenya Kwanza administration. He criticized its inability to fulfill promises made to Kenyans.

“Kenyans know what a government should do. If you don’t deliver, no alliance will save you,” Sifuna warned.

He described the administration as out of touch and unprepared for the reality of leading. This, he argued, is why public trust in Ruto continues to plummet.

Tough Love for Kenyan Politics

Sifuna’s interview wasn’t just about calling out UDA. It was also a message to all political leaders. He reminded them that Kenyan voters are no longer swayed by big names or grand coalitions. They want results.

“We lost with 26 parties. That shows that voters care about delivery, not the size of your alliance,” he reiterated.

His critique cut across the board, highlighting the urgent need for political accountability in Kenya.

A Wake-Up Call for Ruto

As the 2027 elections approach, Sifuna’s words should make every politician uneasy. Kenyans are watching closely. They are tired of empty promises and grandstanding.

If the Kenya Kwanza government fails to act, it risks becoming a cautionary tale in Kenya’s political history.
