NTSA Changes Dates for eLogbook Training Sessions After Public Holiday Gazettement
In a notice issued to transport stakeholders and the public, the authority announced that all virtual training sessions initially scheduled for Wednesday would now take place on Friday, May 29, while maintaining the previously communicated timelines.
The development comes just days before the planned nationwide rollout of the new digital eLogbook platform, a system expected to significantly transform how vehicle ownership records and transfers are managed in Kenya.
“Following the Kenya Gazette Notice dated 25th May 2026 declaring Wednesday, 27th May 2026, Eid-ul-Fitr public holiday, the Authority informs the public of rescheduling of the eLogbook virtual training sessions and demonstrations for the stakeholder categories below to Friday, 29th May 2026,” NTSA stated in the notice.

The afternoon session, scheduled for 2:00 p.m., will bring together a broader range of transport and mobility sector stakeholders for demonstrations and training on how the new system will operate.
Participants expected during the afternoon session include transport network companies, public service vehicle operators, taxi owners, insurers, legal practitioners, driving schools, school transport providers, tour operators and heavy commercial vehicle stakeholders.
The training sessions form part of a wider nationwide awareness campaign being conducted ahead of the official launch of the electronic logbook system on June 10.
The authority says the new system is designed to modernise vehicle registration and ownership verification while reducing fraud, delays and document forgery that have long plagued vehicle transactions in the country.
Under the new arrangement, vehicle owners, buyers, financial institutions and insurers will be able to access ownership records online through the government’s eCitizen platform.
The rollout comes amid the government’s broader push to digitise public services as part of the administration’s plan to reduce paperwork and improve service delivery across ministries and state agencies.
Earlier this year, the president stated that between 80 and 90 per cent of government services had already been digitised under the administration’s digital transformation agenda.

According to the government, more than 22,000 national and county government services are currently accessible online, with additional platforms still being integrated into the system.
However, some stakeholders have already raised concerns about digital accessibility, cybersecurity risks and the readiness of all vehicle owners to fully transition from paper documentation to electronic systems.

Despite those concerns, NTSA insists the sensitisation exercises and demonstrations are intended to ensure all affected parties understand the new process before the official implementation date.
