CCTV Footage Captures Chilling Moments Before Naomi Kuria Was Carjacked, Held Hostage for Hours
According to the actress, the incident occurred on the night of January 30 along a road off the Eastern Bypass in Nairobi, shortly before midnight. In a series of posts shared on her social media platforms, Kuria recounted how what began as a routine drive home quickly escalated into a life-threatening ordeal.

“I noticed a car trailing me, but I thought nothing of it at first,” Kuria recalled in her narration, adding that she initially assumed the driver was simply in a hurry.
However, events took a sudden turn as she approached her residence. The trailing vehicle reportedly sped ahead and blocked her path, forcing her to stop. Several men then emerged, allegedly armed, and forcibly removed her from her car after smashing the window.
“They dragged me out and forced me into their car. I was terrified and didn’t know what would happen next,” she said.
Kuria stated that she was held in the attackers’ vehicle for several hours, during which she was subjected to threats and intimidation. She further alleged that the suspects coerced her into transferring money to their accounts and contacting friends for additional funds.
“They threatened me and demanded money. I had to comply because I feared for my life,” she explained.
The actress also revealed that her car was driven behind the attackers’ vehicle before being abandoned at an undisclosed location. In a puzzling twist, the suspects later returned her car keys, though the vehicle was eventually found vandalised, with critical parts missing.
Friends who had raised alarm over her disappearance reportedly arrived at the station shortly after 3 a.m., marking the end of what she described as one of the most traumatic experiences of her life.
Despite the severity of the incident, Kuria expressed concern over the slow pace of investigations, noting that months later, she has yet to receive substantial updates from authorities.
“I am grateful to be alive, but I still don’t have answers. I hope justice will be served,” she said.

The case remains under investigation, with authorities expected to rely on CCTV footage, witness accounts, and forensic evidence to piece together the sequence of events and identify those responsible.
As the story continues to unfold, Kuria has urged Kenyans to remain vigilant, particularly when driving at night, emphasizing the importance of personal safety in increasingly unpredictable circumstances.
