Speaking in Eldoret on Tuesday, January 28, during the Annual Data Privacy Conference, Kabogo assured that Ruto still commands support in the region. He downplayed concerns over discontent, insisting that there is no political turmoil in the mountain.
‘The Mountain is Intact’
Kabogo likened the supposed political shift to mere noise.

“Those saying there are issues in the mountain are wrong. There is no problem in the mountain. I will go there and take President William Ruto’s greetings, and they will be welcomed,” he stated.
He added a metaphor to emphasize his point.
“What is there is akin to a frog making noise, which does not stop the cow from drinking water.”

“People are creating unnecessary panic. Mt Kenya remains in firm support of Ruto. There is no shift in allegiance,” he affirmed.
Ruto’s Supporters Rally Behind Him
Kabogo’s remarks come amid growing speculation that internal conflicts within the ruling coalition could divide Mt Kenya’s political base. Some leaders claim Gachagua is positioning himself as the region’s undisputed kingpin, sparking tensions among Ruto’s allies.
However, Kabogo assured that such narratives hold no ground. “We must focus on development, not propaganda. The people of Mt Kenya know who their leader is,” he insisted.
