Super Metro Sacco Back on the Road After Sudden Suspension: “We’re Stronger and Safer Than Ever”
After weeks of silence and uncertainty, Super Metro Sacco has finally resumed its operations. On Thursday evening, April 17, the popular matatu service made the official comeback announcement.
The sacco had been grounded since March 20 following a permit suspension by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA). The reason? Failure to meet safety and crew conduct standards.
Cleared and Compliant
Now, everything has changed.
“Super Metro Limited is thrilled to announce that we have successfully met and surpassed all compliance requirements set by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) and the Transport Licensing Appeals Board (TLAB),” the sacco said in a heartfelt statement.
This clearance followed a thorough review from both NTSA and TLAB. The company expressed pride in bouncing back swiftly after the blow.

Behind the Comeback
The return did not happen by chance. For three intense days, Super Metro’s team worked around the clock.
“Our team has worked tirelessly over the past three days to address all directives,” the statement continued, “ensuring that our services meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and regulatory adherence.”
A Promise to Riders
More importantly, Super Metro made a bold commitment to its loyal passengers.
“We are excited to once again serve the people of Kenya,” they declared, “providing safe and efficient transport solutions to communities across the region.”
Additionally, the company promised that such regulatory clashes would not happen again.
“In a bid to avert future squabbles with state regulatory authorities,” it stated, “we promise our clientele exceptional services that will enhance safety onboard.”
Thanking the Public
In a moment of gratitude, Super Metro thanked everyone who stood by them.
“We extend our gratitude to our customers, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities for their patience and support during this period,” it said.
Now, with renewed energy and strengthened resolve, Super Metro is back—ready to serve.
