“Let me be clear. When KDF supports these projects, they don’t take away jobs from our young people and women. The jobs remain here in Siaya,” Tuya stated.
She stressed that the soldiers were only present to improve standards and ensure completion on time.

The hospital alone is receiving a massive boost, with Ksh500 million allocated for a new patient block. The county’s Ksh1.7 billion master plan seeks to transform the facility into a modern three-wing complex.
When complete, the hospital will have 500 beds connected to an existing operating theatre. This will make specialised healthcare more accessible for thousands of families.

The Defence CS underlined the wider impact of the projects.
“This new facility will provide specialised care, create jobs for our young people, and deliver better healthcare for the people of Siaya,” Tuya remarked.
Siaya governor James Orengo alongside Defence Cabinet Secretarty Soipan Tuya during the launch of Phase II of the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Stadium and the expansion of the Siaya County Referral Hospital Complex.
She called the projects a long-term investment in health, employment, and dignity for the people.
