Shock as UDA’s Malava Constituency Aspirant Enock Andanje Dies Suddenly
Malava Constituency has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of Enock Andanje, a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) aspirant and former Bungoma High School principal.
Andanje died on Friday morning in Kakamega County after collapsing during a widows’ empowerment forum presided over by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.
Collapsed Moments After Arrival
Witnesses say Andanje had just arrived at the venue when tragedy struck.
“He developed complications while alighting from his vehicle. Those nearby tried to help immediately,” one attendee recalled.
Efforts to resuscitate him failed as he was being rushed to the hospital.

Mudavadi Breaks the News
Prime CS Mudavadi was forced to pause the event to deliver the heartbreaking announcement.
“While we were seated here, I received news that one of us, Enock Andanje, has died,” Mudavadi told the shocked gathering.
The hall fell into disbelief. Some attendees wept openly, while others quickly shared the devastating news online.
A Leader With Big Dreams
Andanje was among several hopefuls eyeing the UDA ticket for Malava. He had taken early retirement as a Chief Principal to join politics.
He aimed to replace Malulu Injendi, the former MP who died in February this year. Since declaring his bid, Andanje had attended numerous public functions, engaging closely with residents.
“He was committed to the people of Malava and had a clear vision,” said a local supporter.
Cause of Death Unknown
The exact cause of Andanje’s death remains unclear. Medical investigations are expected to shed light on the tragedy.
Impact on Upcoming By-Elections
His death comes just a week after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) confirmed that all by-elections will be held on November 27 this year.
In a gazette notice dated August 8, IEBC Chair Erastus Ethekon listed the vacant wards, constituencies, and counties where voting will take place. Malava is among them
