“Women, you know, have your chance. We want single mothers and all women to come,” Ruto said.

“We are looking for 600,000 of them to come for training so that we can train them, either via the national or county government, on how to conduct businesses and empower themselves,” he added.
This initiative will complement the ongoing NYOTA Programme, which already supports vulnerable groups with mentorship, training, and funding.
“We are committed to empowering our youth. NYOTA will change lives,” Ruto said during Mashujaa Day celebrations in Kitui.
Starting Friday, October 24, a nationwide verification exercise will begin across all 290 constituencies. This aims to ensure only eligible youth benefit from the programme.

“Skills, Recognition, and Opportunity”
Under NYOTA, 90,000 youth will receive technical and vocational training. Those with informal skills will also be recognized and certified.
“We want to reward prior learning. Every skill matters,” Ruto declared.
