Postmortem Reveals Shocking Cause of Mlolongo Abductees’ Deaths
A postmortem report has revealed the horrific cause of death of two men abducted in Mlolongo, Machakos County. Justus Mutumwa and Martin Mwau disappeared in December 2024, only for their bodies to be discovered on January 31 after an agonizing search by their families.
Pathologist Richard Njoroge confirmed that both men suffered violent deaths. Their bodies showed multiple injuries, suggesting extreme force was used.
Mutumwa’s Brutal Final Moments
Mutumwa’s body was retrieved from Ruai and taken to Nairobi Funeral Home on December 18—just two days after he went missing. The autopsy report painted a grim picture of his final moments.
“There were multiple abdominal, chest, and head injuries. He also had defence injuries on his arms, meaning he struggled before he died,” Njoroge explained.
The deep injuries pointed to a fierce struggle, indicating that Mutumwa fought hard to survive.
Mwau’s Death: A Case of Strangulation
Unlike Mutumwa, Mwau’s autopsy revealed he had been strangled. His body was severely decomposed, but key injuries indicated how he died.
“The second body (Mwau) had a head injury, abdominal wall trauma, and thoracic injuries. The critical finding was injuries in the strap muscles of the neck, leading us to conclude he died from manual neck compression,” the pathologist revealed.
The report confirmed Mwau suffered a slow and painful death at the hands of his killers.

Families Demand Justice
The disturbing details of the autopsy have left families shattered and desperate for answers. The victims’ relatives have urged authorities to act swiftly and arrest those responsible.
Mutumwa’s family, devastated by the violent nature of his death, described him as a hardworking man with no known enemies.
“We just want justice. No one deserves to die like this,” a grieving family member said.
What’s Next in the Investigation?
Authorities are now under pressure to uncover who was behind these brutal murders. The bodies’ state and nature of injuries suggest a well-coordinated attack. However, no arrests have been made yet.
With the postmortem report confirming foul play, the families hope the truth will come out soon. Kenyans are closely watching how the police handle this case, as abductions and unexplained deaths continue to spark fear across the country.
