Fuel Prices Remain Unchanged in Latest EPRA Review
Kenyans will continue paying Ksh176.58 for Super Petrol, Ksh167.06 for Diesel, and Ksh151.39 for Kerosene, as the government maintains price stability amid fluctuating global oil costs.
No Change in Fuel Costs
In an official statement, EPRA confirmed that the prices would not shift during this cycle.
“In the period under review, the maximum allowed petroleum pump prices for Super Petrol, Diesel, and Kerosene remain unchanged,” EPRA stated.
The current prices include 16% Value Added Tax (VAT) as required by the Finance Act 2023, the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2024, and excise duty adjustments per Legal Notice No. 194 of 2020.
City-by-City Fuel Prices
Fuel prices across major cities will remain as follows:
- Nairobi: Super Petrol – Ksh176.58, Diesel – Ksh167.06, Kerosene – Ksh151.39
- Mombasa: Super Petrol – Ksh173.43, Diesel – Ksh168.82, Kerosene – Ksh148.15
- Nakuru: Super Petrol – Ksh175.80, Diesel – Ksh166.63, Kerosene – Ksh151.01
- Eldoret/Kisumu: Super Petrol – Ksh176.62, Diesel – Ksh167.45, Kerosene – Ksh151.82
EPRA reiterated that fuel prices are determined based on the Petroleum Act 2019 and Legal Notice No.192 of 2022.

Previous Fuel Price Adjustments
In January 2025, EPRA made slight increases in fuel prices. Super Petrol rose by Ksh0.29 per liter, Diesel by Ksh2, and Kerosene by Ksh3 per liter. However, this month, EPRA decided to hold prices steady, giving Kenyans relief from further hikes.
What This Means for Kenyans
The decision to maintain fuel prices comes as a sigh of relief for consumers and businesses that have been grappling with rising costs. Stability in fuel prices means transportation, manufacturing, and daily household expenses will not be affected by an increase in fuel costs. However, the high prices still remain a concern for many struggling to cope with the overall cost of living.
Looking Ahead
While the prices remain stable for now, future adjustments will depend on global oil prices, taxation policies, and currency exchange rates. Many are watching closely to see if fuel prices will drop in the next review cycle or if further tax adjustments will lead to increases.
