Murkomen Scoffs at Gachagua’s US Testimony Threat
Speaking on Monday during the Jukwaa La Usalama caucus in Narok, Murkomen said the government would only take Gachagua seriously if he recorded a formal statement.
“If he has information, he should come home and submit it in writing to the DCI. That is the only way we know that the information he has is true,” Murkomen stated.
He accused the former Deputy President and current DCP party leader of being unpatriotic and spreading rumours instead of promoting national unity.
‘Tarnishing Kenya’s Image Abroad’
Murkomen also slammed Gachagua for what he called a deliberate attempt to damage Kenya’s global reputation during his U.S. visit.
“The decision to testify before the Senate of another country is laughable and does not warrant any strong grounds for his argument. Additionally, that shows his mental sanity since he wants to vie for a higher office,” he remarked.
The CS claimed Gachagua had reduced serious national security issues to a joke.

Not Interfering with Police Work
Murkomen defended himself against accusations of meddling with the National Police Service (NPS).
“When I say that he should record a statement, I am not saying that NPS is not independent; I am just stating what is in the law,” he explained.
Gachagua Fires Back from the U.S.
On Sunday, Gachagua dared Murkomen to arrest him once he returns to Kenya. The former DP had earlier accused President Ruto of links to terrorism while speaking at a diaspora town hall meeting in San Francisco, California.
“I am not a leader who buys fear. I am not the one who has launched investigations against William Ruto. It is the Senate of the United States,” Gachagua told the audience.
He added:
“I have nothing useful to tell him (Murkomen). But if the Americans want me to assist in investigations, I would because that is where the investigations are.”
Political Temperatures Rising
The public feud marks another escalation in Kenya’s already tense political climate. Gachagua’s explosive claims have triggered heated reactions from government allies, while Murkomen’s fiery response has deepened the standoff.

Kenyans now await Gachagua’s return, curious to see whether his bold defiance will lead to a showdown—or fizzle into political theatre.
