Kericho Horror: Child Discovers Severed Head in Cooking Pot, Residents Demand Justice
Residents of Koisagat village in Kericho County are in shock after a horrifying murder shook their peaceful community. On the morning of Wednesday, February 19, a child made a gruesome discovery—a severed head inside a cooking pot.
The young child, who had gone to prepare tea, opened the pot, only to find the head inside. Panic spread quickly as the child screamed in terror.
“At around 5 a.m., a child went to retrieve the pot for tea and found the head inside. Upon seeing it, we started screaming,” recounted resident Jefferson Kirui.
The victim’s torso was later found two kilometers away in a nearby thicket, adding to the chilling nature of the crime.
Community on Edge
The brutal killing is not an isolated case. According to resident Mark Too, the area has witnessed a disturbing rise in violent attacks.

“One person is already dead, and another is in critical condition at Kericho Referral Hospital, with both arms amputated. This all happened within the same day,” he said.
Fear and outrage have gripped Koisagat, with many residents demanding answers and justice.
Protests Erupt Over Rising Insecurity
Angered by the murder, residents took to the streets, staging protests and accusing a well-known local businessman of orchestrating the violence. They believe he has been behind a string of attacks but remains untouched due to alleged police collusion.
“There are cases where suspects are arrested, but they are quickly released. When they return, they mock us, saying, ‘What can you do to me?’ Such impunity is leaving us vulnerable,” lamented Brian Ngetich, a resident.
The community fears that without immediate intervention, more lives will be lost. They are calling on authorities to act swiftly and end the violence.
Police Assure Swift Action
Kericho County Police Commander James Ngetich responded to the residents’ concerns, vowing to bring the suspect to justice.
“We will track the suspect relentlessly, even if it means searching underwater. I assure you, within two to three weeks, we will have him in custody,” he declared.
As investigations continue, the victim’s body remains at the Kericho County Hospital morgue. Meanwhile, residents are urging authorities to restore security and prevent further bloodshed.
Will Justice Prevail?
The gruesome murder has left Koisagat in fear, but the community remains determined to seek justice. The big question now is whether authorities will finally crack down on the rising violence or allow impunity to continue.
