Justin Muturi Vows to Stand Firm Days after Being Sacked by Ruto: “Dialed Wrong Number”
Speaking at Serena Hotel on Wednesday, April 2, Muturi insisted that his dismissal resulted from his firm stance against extrajudicial killings and abductions.
Clashes Over Cabinet Meetings
President William Ruto, during a roundtable at Sagana State Lodge, claimed Muturi absconded Cabinet meetings. Muturi admitted missing some but said he always informed the president.
He revealed that he sent confidential letters requesting discussions on enforced disappearances and unlawful executions.
“To date, the President has never responded to any of my letters,” he said. “Clearly, the matter of abduction and extrajudicial killings is not worthy of his attention or that of the Cabinet.”
Muturi expressed shock at Ruto’s televised remarks that the Cabinet had resolved the issue.
“I was surprised to hear the President say this matter was discussed and resolved,” he added.

Fired for Speaking Out?
Muturi maintained that his vocal stance on enforced disappearances led to his sacking.
He vowed to keep fighting for justice despite his dismissal.
“If their intention is to silence me, they have dialed the wrong number,” he declared. “I will never stop fighting for Kenyans’ rights.”
A Graceful Exit
Despite his unceremonious sacking, Muturi peacefully handed over his duties to Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi on Tuesday, April 1.
Many Kenyans applauded his composure and maturity during the transition.
Muturi’s replacement, Mbeere North MP Geoffrey Ruku, is a close ally of the president.
