Former Tahidi High Actress Alice Wairimu Passes Away
The Kenyan entertainment industry is reeling in shock after the sudden death of actress Alice Wairimu, famously known as Alicia Nimo. The beloved former Tahidi High actress collapsed at her home on the morning of Saturday, April 19, and was later confirmed dead.
Her unexpected death comes just as she was beginning to shine brightly in Kenya’s mainstream entertainment scene.
Rising Star Gone Too Soon
Wairimu, known for her talent and vibrant personality, was on a fast rise. She had begun her career at Ebru TV and made waves with roles in Tahidi High, Netflix’s Cash Money, and the hit series Nduthi.
Her death has left fans, colleagues, and family members heartbroken. Many have described her as a kind-hearted soul who was destined for greatness.
“Alice was full of life, warm, and deeply talented. She was just beginning to rise,” said a close friend and colleague.
Mysterious Illness and Sudden Collapse
According to family sources, Wairimu’s health deteriorated rapidly after a brief illness. Although no underlying medical conditions were previously known, her sudden collapse shocked those closest to her.
Her body was taken to the Kenyatta University mortuary, where an autopsy is expected to determine the cause of death.
“She seemed fine just a few days ago. None of us expected this,” said a family member in disbelief.
Family and Friends Seeking Support
As the family grieves, they’ve opened a WhatsApp group to help raise funeral funds. Supporters and fans are urged to contribute as a sign of respect and solidarity.
The family has not yet disclosed the exact nature of her illness. However, many believe it may have been something unexpected, as no chronic condition had been reported.
Another Tahidi High Star Gone
Tragically, Wairimu is the second Tahidi High actor to pass away recently. Just months ago, Xavier Jerry Nato, another celebrated actor from the show, died following a long battle with kidney disease.
Xavier’s family had made a public appeal in November for help with medical bills. Sadly, he passed on despite efforts from fans and well-wishers.

Now, with Wairimu’s untimely death, the show’s former cast members and fans are left mourning two young stars in quick succession.
Gone, But Not Forgotten
Alice Wairimu’s light may have gone out too soon, but her impact remains. Her warmth, laughter, and talent will be remembered for years.
