Drama in the Mountain: Kindiki Defends Musicians, Dares Gachagua to Show Proof

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki broke his calm demeanor in a fiery outburst, lashing out at former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. While addressing SACCO members in Kabete, Kiambu County, Kindiki defended himself against bribery claims linked to Mt Kenya musicians.

The rarely confrontational DP stunned the crowd when he declared:

“Please stop lecturing us; we are not your children. Do not make noise for me. Do not bring that kind of backwards politics here in Central!”

Locals erupted in cheers as Kindiki’s voice rose with frustration and conviction.

“We Give From the Heart!” – Kindiki Fires Back

Gachagua had accused Kindiki of paying Kikuyu musicians Ksh50,000 each to attend a meeting at his Karen residence on March 23. However, Kindiki strongly denied the bribery allegations.

“For you, when you were a leader, whom did you bribe or take your wealth to?” he asked pointedly.

“The little that we give is not because we have excess wealth; it is out of good-heartedness.”

This sharp rebuttal marked a rare emotional moment from the law professor, who usually avoids drama.

Gachagua’s Boycott Call Sparks Outrage

In Murang’a, Gachagua called on Mt Kenya residents to unfollow musicians who met Kindiki. He named Samidoh, Karangu Muraya, Ben Githae, Jose Gatutura, DJ Fatxo, Sammy Irungu, Martin Wajanet, and Ngaruiya Junior.

“They went and were given Ksh50,000,” Gachagua claimed.

He urged entertainment joints to stop inviting the artists and warned fans to boycott any venue that continued to support them.

“If they don’t apologise to the community, they should face consequences,” he warned.

Kindiki Reminds Gachagua of His Past Sacrifices

Visibly pained, Kindiki reminded the public of his deep political roots. He defended his track record, even recalling his role in defending President William Ruto at the ICC during the 2007 post-election violence.

“Is there anyone who fought for this government more than me?” Kindiki asked.

“Before Uhuru and Ruto even came together, I was the one struggling for them at the Hague.”

He questioned Gachagua’s loyalty and contribution during that critical time.

A Divided Mountain?

As tensions rise in the Mt Kenya region, Kindiki’s outburst signals growing political divisions. Musicians, once unifying figures, are now caught in a storm.

The people are watching. The mountain is rumbling.
