Amnesty Kenya Demands Release of ‘Time Table’ Blogger Ndiangui Kinyagia 6 Days After Mysterious Abduction
Tension is rising nationwide following the abduction of blogger and activist Ndiangui Kinyagia. The 31-year-old went missing on Saturday, June 21, after a chilling raid at his home in Kinoo. Amnesty Kenya has stepped in, demanding urgent action.
“Free Ndiangui Kinyagia. He was last seen on June 21 after a reported raid by DCI officers at his home in Kinoo,”
Amnesty Kenya stated.
“We call for his immediate release. If he is accused of any crime, let him be presented before a court of law — not held incommunicado.”
Suspicious Operation Sparks Outrage

According to family members, men believed to be from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) staged the raid. Witnesses claim the officers arrived in unmarked vehicles and camped outside his apartment for nearly nine hours.
After breaching the house, Kinyagia was reportedly taken by force. His whereabouts remain unknown.
“We reported the matter to the Kinoo Police Station, but the officers denied knowledge of the operation or his arrest,”
a family member told journalists.
Activist Boniface Mwangi Raises Alarm
Activists have linked Kinyagia’s disappearance to state agencies, warning of possible abuse.

“This man is being held, and likely tortured in a detention hole run by the National Intelligence Service and Directorate of Criminal Investigations,”
Boniface Mwangi declared.
Mwangi believes the abduction reflects deep-rooted injustices targeting vocal youth online. He added that Kinyagia’s case mirrors a pattern of silencing dissent under the guise of national security.
LSK Demands Accountability
The Law Society of Kenya has condemned the incident, calling it a grave violation of human rights. LSK President Faith Odhiambo announced plans to move to court.
“This abduction is a dangerous erosion of constitutional protections,”
said Odhiambo.
“We are filing a court application to compel the police to produce him and explain the raid.”
‘Timetable’ Tweet May Have Triggered Arrest
Kinyagia is known for creating a viral “protest timetable” shared widely on June 25, detailing protest schedules. Ironically, he never attended the demonstrations. His family believes he was picked up for spreading the protest blueprint.
Despite public outcry, no government agency has claimed responsibility for his disappearance.

Fear and Silence Grip Activist Circles
Kenyans continue to demand answers. Many say this abduction signals an alarming trend of unlawful disappearances under unclear circumstances. Until now, the silence from authorities is deafening.
