DCP Branch Gives Ichung’wah 48-Hour Ultimatum Over Controversial Pastor Dorcas Remarks

The Democratic for Citizens Party (DCP) leaders in Murang’a have sounded a sharp warning to National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah.

They’ve issued a 48-hour ultimatum demanding he apologizes for what they described as “disrespectful and culturally offensive” remarks about Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, wife to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

During a heated press briefing, DCP officials strongly condemned Ichung’wah’s recent comments, where he implied that Gachagua was being dominated by his wife.

“As Murang’a DCP fraternity, we’ve given Kikuyu MP a 48-hour ultimatum to withdraw your statements,” one official warned.
“If you don’t, we’ll take this matter to court.”

“You Cannot Insult Your Mother in Public!”

Tensions rose as the leaders reminded Ichung’wah of his responsibility as a role model. They insisted his comments not only undermined the dignity of a respected woman but also clashed with cultural expectations.

“Elders should now come out and cleanse this man,” another member declared.
“You cannot insult your mother in front of people, yet you are a leader many look up to.”

The officials argued that Ichung’wah’s actions had eroded public trust.

“We don’t have faith in any leader who dispenses insults.”

Call for Global Attention

Moreover, the DCP team urged not just Kenyans, but also international human rights groups and the global diplomatic community to intervene.

“I urge government officials, human rights organizations, and the international community not to keep quiet,” a spokesperson emphasized.
“The MP’s remarks aim to instil fear in Pastor Dorcas. That should never be allowed.”

Pastor Dorcas Fires Back

Meanwhile, Pastor Dorcas has not stayed silent. In the U.S., while accompanying her husband on a two-month tour, she brushed off the attack.

“That is why sometimes when he allows me to speak first is not because I ‘sit on him’,” she said.
“How can you sit on a man like this, who is causing the whole nation not to sleep?”

Her voice grew firmer:

“A man whom the President, the Deputy President, and MPs hardly stop talking about. I keep hearing them say Wamunyoro. Is that the kind of man your claims apply to? You are such liars.”

She vowed that public opinion would never shake the love, respect, and unwavering support she has for her husband.

As the 48-hour countdown ticks, all eyes are on Ichung’wah. Will he apologize or face legal fire?
