Mutahi Kahiga Warmly Welcomes Ruto to Nyeri, Urges Him to Return: “Tuletee Maendeleo”

Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga gave President William Ruto a warm reception as he toured the Mt. Kenya region. Addressing a crowd in Kieni, Kahiga praised the president for his commitment to development.

“I take this opportunity to welcome you to Kieni, Nyeri County, your excellency,” Kahiga said. “We want to thank you because you have come bearing the gift of development.”

The governor highlighted the president’s efforts in addressing critical infrastructure and healthcare issues in Nyeri.

Millions Poured Into Nyeri

Kahiga noted that Ruto’s government had allocated over KSh 850 million to the county. He emphasized that this money would significantly improve the lives of residents.

“For a long time, this region has lagged behind in terms of development,” he admitted. “But now, we see change happening.”

Road construction and maintenance have been major challenges due to limited county funds. However, Kahiga assured residents that the president’s intervention would ease the burden.

Struggles in Infrastructure

Kahiga candidly spoke about financial struggles affecting county projects. Road networks have been difficult to maintain due to budget limitations.

“The money allocated to county governments is little, and I have struggled with road projects,” he revealed. “That is why we are grateful that after our discussions, you agreed to upgrade our hospital here in Naromoru.”

He lauded Ruto’s commitment to improving healthcare by promising advanced medical equipment for Nyeri’s hospitals.

Nyeri Fully Supports Ruto

Dismissing rumors of political tensions, Kahiga assured the president of Nyeri’s unwavering support. He urged Ruto to visit the region frequently and continue launching development projects.

“We want you to come back again and again,” he said. “Tuletee maendeleo (bring us development).”

Ruto’s visit reaffirmed the national government’s commitment to Mt. Kenya’s growth. Residents cheered as Kahiga and other leaders pledged continued collaboration with the president.

With millions invested in infrastructure and healthcare, Nyeri is set for transformation. The people eagerly anticipate more visits and even greater progress.
