Nakuru Family Who Lost 7 Members in Accident Speak
A family in Nakuru County is grappling with immense grief after losing seven members in a tragic accident along the Naivasha-Mai Mahiu Road. The devastating incident occurred on Sunday, March 30, as the victims were returning home from an uncle’s memorial service.
The heartbreaking news reached the family while they were still making burial arrangements for another loved one, Rev. Kahure, who had recently passed away. The sorrow deepened as they came to terms with the deaths of their relatives and a neighbor’s child.
Speaking during the burial of Rev. Kahure, George Kahure, a member of the grieving family, recalled the painful moment they received the tragic news.
“We heard about the accident at around 9 PM and immediately rushed to Naivasha Hospital. There, we were informed that five of our family members had lost their lives, while two others had survived,” he said.
Unfortunately, the two surviving children were later transferred to Nakuru Level 5 Hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries.
The family is now facing an overwhelming challenge as they prepare to bury six more loved ones just days after laying Rev. Kahure to rest. The financial burden of arranging multiple burials is immense, prompting them to seek assistance from the government and well-wishers.
“We are pleading with the government to support this family. They are young and need all the help they can get. It is an unbearable pain, and any assistance would be greatly appreciated,” urged Samuel Kahure.
The loss has left the community in shock, with many rallying behind the bereaved family in their time of need. As they mourn their loved ones, they are hoping for support to ease the heavy burden of the tragedy.
