Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has hit back with a strong-worded response to President William Ruto’s latest allegations against him, escalating the ongoing political tensions between the two leaders.
Breaking his silence following Ruto’s interview with Mt Kenya’s vernacular stations, Gachagua lashed out, branding the president a “pathological liar” and openly questioning his credibility.
Taking to social media platform X, Gachagua dismissed Ruto’s claims as blatant falsehoods. He warned that deception at the highest levels of governance threatens the nation’s stability and future.
“I am now more convinced than ever that pathological lying is a mental disorder. The greatest danger to our beloved country is the unchecked deception of the people of Kenya without hesitation. A leader who cannot coordinate his own team to align their narratives spells doom for our nation. I weep for my country, Kenya,” he posted.
Gachagua’s statement came shortly after Ruto’s televised address, where the president laid out details of their fallout. Among the explosive claims, Ruto alleged that Gachagua had demanded KSh 10 billion to secure political support in the Mt Kenya region. He further accused Gachagua of issuing veiled threats, warning that he would ensure Ruto remained a one-term president if his demands were not met.
As the political rift between the two deepens, the war of words continues to spark nationwide debate, with observers questioning the potential impact of the feud on the country’s leadership and stability.
