Speaking during an Iftar dinner at State House, Nairobi, on Tuesday, March 25, Ruto assured the Muslim community that the long-standing Muslim Endowment Fund issue would soon be resolved.
“I agree with you that the Muslim Endowment Fund has taken too long. There is no reason. I had a problem with the AG who was there before—he was fairly incompetent. But now, I have a very competent lady in the position, and I can assure you that the issues of Waqf will be sorted out within months,” Ruto declared.
Ruto’s latest remarks have fueled speculation about his strained relationship with Muturi, with many wondering if the former AG might be ousted from his current Cabinet Secretary position.
Ruto Assures the Nubian Community
Beyond slamming Muturi, Ruto also addressed concerns from the Nubian community. He promised to officially recognise them as part of Kenya’s diverse society.
“I want to assure our Nubian brothers and sisters that they are solid members of the Kenyan community. They are going to be mainstreamed either by Madaraka or Jamhuri Day celebrations. This year, we will conclude the process of recognising them as part of our society because they have contributed immensely to Kenya’s progress,” Ruto affirmed.
